Legislators are looking at two bills to increase taxes on your favorite spirits, beer, wine and cider. The first would DOUBLE the alcohol tax rates for spirits, beer and wine. The second would be a 60% increase, but would disguise the tax as a “fee” to skip getting your approval on the ballot!

DYK: In Colorado, 43% of a typical spirits bottle sold already goes towards a tax or fee of some kind. Legislators are working to INCREASE that number.

These increases would result in higher prices for consumers, lost sales for local retailers AND an elimination of Colorado jobs.
