Legislators are looking to put a “fee” which acts just like a tax on all alcohol products. DYK: In Colorado, 43% of a typical spirits bottle sold already goes towards a tax of some kind, and legislators are working to INCREASE that number. This increase would result in higher prices for consumers, lost sales for local retailers AND an elimination of Colorado jobs, without reducing the consumption of Colorado’s heaviest drinkers.

But because legislators are calling this increase a “fee” instead of a tax, they get to SKIP getting voter approval. That’s just wrong!

Take action and tell legislators that implementing a new tax under the guise of a fee to skip voter approval isn’t right!
